"Sorry For Your Loss" – New Collectible Pieces

In this exhibition, Alex Joncas unveils "Sorry For Your Loss", a series born from an intense physicality. His practice is both sensory and philosophical—a quest for beauty shaped by fire, emotion, and form.

The work showcases a dramatic tension between mastery and letting go:

  • Hand-Modeled Bronze: The structure, crafted using jewelry-making techniques, demonstrates a command of gesture through meticulous hammering and polishing.
  • Organic Glass "Overflow": Contrasting the bronze, the glass elements emerge from "overflow"—random offcuts and remnants whose organic beauty is captured in their ethereal fragility.

The final work becomes an embrace where glass is set within bronze. Light serves as a material in its own right, penetrating the glass to reveal its texture and delicate forms. Alex Joncas blurs the boundaries between art, craft, and design, inviting the viewer into a sensitive dialogue with these structural embraces.
